The EnTRAINER project will perform 80 initial energy audits (energy scans) in relevant industrial intensive sites, 40 direct detailed energy transition audits and 40 indirect energy transition audits, done by the project trained auditors, all in industrial energy intensive sites.
Οur Process
Based on the holistic methodology for the holistic energy transition and having prepared and engaged the energy audit and beneficiaries’ teams, the energy scans will be performed for at least 10 sites/year/country. These preliminary scans will focus on specific barriers of the sites, including sector specific barriers. An initial energy efficiency action plan will be proposed, along with multiple benefits of the proposed measures. Also, energy management “tips and tricks” will be included, based on the situation identified. The preliminary energy scans will consist of walkthrough energy audits, performed by the engaged EnTRAINER energy transition auditors and accompanied by the external energy auditor replicators using various communication channels approved by the clients – digital communication, direct presence, online advisory meetings. The enabled company staff will accompany the auditors in the walkthrough site visits, assist in the evaluations, discuss the preliminary conclusions, identified barriers and potential solutions. The top management will be informed of the energy transition site scan visits and attend a brief meeting at the beginning and the end of the preliminary evaluations. Short presentations will be made by the energy auditor consolidated teams for each pilot site containing the conclusions of the energy scans along with the energy efficiency decarbonization action plan. Teams will also prepare a timeline for follow-up steps. Lessons learned will be drafted based on the implication of the top-management and staff in the preliminary evaluations and the presentation of results. Out of the minimum 10 energy scans/year/country, in agreementwith the clients’ engagement first, the identified decarbonization potential and availability to get to action, each year a minimum number of at least 5 beneficiaries/country will be selected to undertake detailed energy transition audits.
A contractual arrangement between EnTRAINER consortium and the clients, the detailed energy transition audits will be launched having clear objectives and the goal to present a decarbonization action plan, scheduled on short-, medium- and long-term investments. The energy transition audit team, again in a consolidated engagement between the internal EnTRAINER auditors and the external replication auditors, shall conduct detailed investigation, specific and oriented discussions with the staff, the energy managers and brief reporting discussions with the top decision makers, after each on-site evaluation, authorised energy measurements, energy analysis, energy balances for real and optimal operation and based on all these evaluations, they will prepare the most important chapter of the energy transition audit, the decarbonization action plan. This is how we see a serious and ambition-oriented energy transition audit to be performed. At least 5 per year for two years per country Energy transition Audit reports will result.
